Ink supplies maker Canon has begun a new Europe-wide campaign to encourage aspiring photographers to get involved with the pastime.

The EOS Adventure drive, being run in partnership with Yahoo!, will help people take their hobby to the next level through a range of online tutorials featuring some of the continent's most influential professionals.

It will also run a competition that will offer the winner the chance to take exciting wildlife snaps in Kenya's Masai Mara national reserve.

Experts from Canon will provide entrants with tips on how they can improve their photography, offering feedback on images uploaded to Flickr.

Marketing communications director at Canon Europe Nigel Taylor said: "Our aim is to empower and inspire photographers of all levels to take their photography to the next level and explore just how much they can achieve with their DSLR."

Recently, Canon's commitment to helping professional photographers achieve great images was showcased as the firm sponsored London Fashion Week, where it provided a range of support services to snappers capturing the event.
