Ink supplies maker Canon has confirmed that it will be continuing its support of the Danone Nations Cup by sponsoring the contest this year, the final of which is set to take place in Spain.

The competition is the largest ever event for youth players aged between ten and 12, with 2.5 million individuals participating in national tournaments in 40 countries.

Next month, 560 youngsters from five continents will head to Spain for the finals, with the concluding game to be held at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium on October 9th.

As part of Canon's deal with the organisers, the ink cartridges maker is arranging activities such as team photo sessions and producing a range of souvenir printed materials the participants will be able to take away with them.

Chief of communication for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the company James Leipnik said: "We are pleased to extend our support for an exciting event that encourages children to lead an active lifestyle and that will generate many memorable moments for people to capture and cherish."
