Home users who require a multifunction printer (MFP) may like to consider an MFC-J825DW model from printer supplies maker Brother.

The device is claimed by the manufacturer to be the "perfect choice" for use in a home office as it can provide professional-quality operations, including scanning and copying, in one compact machine.

With its design allowing it to fit neatly into a domestic environment, features such as automatic duplexing and built-in Wi-Fi could be useful, while its Energy Star certification means it has low power consumption and extremely quiet operations.

Examining the MFP for PC World, Melissa Riofrio and Jon Jacobi noted that another useful feature of the device is its ability to print on to CDs and DVDs, which was described by the experts as a "nice perk".

They also stated the MFC-J825DW produces good quality results for both text and photos and could be an ideal choice for low-volume home office users.

Recently, another home MFP device from Brother, the DCP-J925DW, was praised by Simon Handby of Expert Reviews for the speed at which it produces text documents.
