Keen photographers using ink cartridges to print out photos in their home may be interested in a new camera design from Panasonic.

The Lumix GX1 features a 16 megapixel high-sensitivity sensor that the manufacturer claims is capable of delivering excellent results even in low light conditions.

It also has a compact design that allows it to be carried around easily, making it an ideal choice for everyday use, the maker continued.

Senior product manager for Imaging at Panasonic Consumer Electronics Darin Pepple suggested the GX1 will be ideal for photography enthusiasts keen to upgrade their equipment.

"With a built-in flash and a hot shoe allowing for accessories like an external view finder, the GX1 is a powerful compact system camera that is small enough to be a photographer's everyday camera choice," he added.

Individuals looking to invest in a high-quality printer to ensure they get the most out of their photos may also like to consider the Pixma MG8250 from ink supplies maker Canon, which was recently praised by Niall Magennis of CNet UK for the detail of its output.
