I mentioned in a previous post that 2012 is the year of productivity for me. I want to get more done in a day than any previous day in my life. That goes for both time and money. So, how am I going to achieve this? Through doing everything I do daily, differently; that goes for the mobile, too.

Over the last few months, I have tried and tested numerous apps to help me do more in a single day and below I’ve listed 3 such apps that I use daily to help me achieve my goal.

Toshl

I wanted to start to track how much I spend monthly and how I can spend more productively. I started to download lots of different (free) apps to test (trial and full versions) and came down to Toshl. It’s a fantastic looking, simple to use and quick to input expenses on the go app.  The free version gives you plenty of functionality to fulfil your needs and if you want more, they have a pro version.

Features include:

  • Expense Tracking
  • Budgets
  • Summaries
  • Foreign Currencies
  • Planning
  • Toshl.com – Manage and sync your finances on their site.
  • Export to CSV

Toshl Pro includes many more features (I’m thinking of going on the pro plan at £1.49/month)

Harvest

For tracking time, Harvest has been my favourite. Primarily a web tool, Harvest is also a fantastic tool for an individual. Their free account provides ample functionality and like Toshl, has an awesome UI and is quick and simple to use.

Features include:

  • Start and stop task timers
  • Summary
  • Online Sync with http://www.getharvest.com/ (more powerful features online with reporting)
  • Monthly Timesheetss

For those who like to plan their day from morning to evening – then this app is the tool you need to streamline this. I personally use this app due to the following:

  • User friendly
  • Looks great
  • Simple to use
  • Most importantly, quick and easy to input new plans

There is a free and pro version available on the app store.

Feature include

  • Colour code tasks by category
  • sync with iOS and Google Calender (Pro)
  • Arrange options for lists
  • Great repeat feature
  • alerts/ notifications
  • and more
