People looking to produce high-quality photos from their home PC must ensure they have the best printer and ink supplies to obtain good results.

According to Pocket Lint's Hunter Skipworth, many individuals may be nervous about creating printed images as they believe the range of options available will be confusing, but he said this is not necessarily the case, as there are a few simple steps that can be taken to make the task easier.

Printer manufacturer HP also offered some tips for ensuring a person's photos are as sharp as possible, such as using good quality paper and ink cartridges.

This was echoed by Mr Skipworth, who stated: "Cheaper papers tend to let inks bleed across the page and don't allow colours to be properly absorbed into the page, meaning duller prints."

The expert also advised investing in a printer designed for photo production, while HP highlighted its Photosmart range as being useful for this.

Individuals looking to capture high-quality images may like to select photography equipment from Canon, as this was recently named as the best brand in this sector by consumer group Which?.
