Photography enthusiasts looking to use Canon ink supplies to print out their best snaps may be interested in two new cameras that have been introduced by the firm.

The PowerShot S100 is claimed by the maker to be the most advanced model in the range to date and comes with a 24mm ultra-wide lens and enhanced technology to increase the quality of the images it captures.

Other features to be included on the device are a GPS unit so users can keep track of the exact location of each of their photos and full 1080p HD video recording.

The camera also comes with Canon's Image Stabiliser technology to reduce blurring caused by camera shake, an addition that is also on the other new device in the PowerShot range, the SX40 HS.

This model features a 35x wide-angle optical zoom lens that is able to capture any subject with ease.

Canon added the SX40 HS is "ideal for photographers who want the flexibility and control of a DSLR and the versatility of a huge focal range packed into a compact body".

Last month, another new camera to go on sale in September was announced by Canon, the PowerShot SX150 IS.
