Home users looking for a good quality printer that is cheap to run and offers a wide range of features may like to consider the Hero 9.1 model from ink supplies maker Kodak.

According to the manufacturer, the device should be easy to set up and use thanks to its large 4.3 inch colour LCD screen, which allows users to scan, copy and fax documents, as well as print directly from a memory card without using a PC.

It also offers features such as a 30-page automatic document feeder and a separate 40-sheet tray for photo paper to help make everyday tasks more efficient.

Reviewing the device for CNet UK, Niall Magennis said it "covers pretty much all the features more demanding users could want from an inkjet printer".

He also noted photo outputs are "impressively rich and vivid", while he observed the low running costs and cheap replacement ink cartridges should make it economical to operate in the long term.

Previously, Mr Magennis stated the entry-level machine in the Hero range, the 5.1, could be a good choice for those on a smaller budget who are looking for a combination of high quality and low expenses.
