Amateur snappers who may use ink cartridges to produce copies of their best shots may be interested to hear the Sony World Photography Awards will be returning to London next year.

The event's main ceremony will take place at the capital's Park Lane Hilton on April 26th, while the associated exhibition will be held at Somerset House in April and May of 2012 at Somerset House.

It will also play host to the World Photo, London festival at the same time, which is open to all individuals with an interest in the activity and includes talks, workshops and seminars.

Creative director of the World Photography Organisation Astrid Merget said: "We are eagerly anticipating our second year in London and are thrilled to welcome our international photo community once again to what we believe will be home to our main festival and awards for many years to come."

Elsewhere, a large amount of printer supplies may have been needed by Dutch artist Erik Kessels, who embarked on a project to print out every photo uploaded to Flickr during a 24-hour period and display them at a gallery in Amsterdam, Creative Review reported.
