Home office users on a budget looking for a multifunction printer (MFP) may like to consider the MFC-J430W model from ink supplies maker Brother.

The manufacturer notes the device offers many of the features commonly found on business-oriented machines – such as scanning, copying and faxing capabilities and an automatic document feeder – but its stylish and compact design enables to fit in comfortably to a home environment.

It could therefore be valuable to remote workers who need flexibility for their professional activities as well as a device for domestic use.

The model, which is among the cheapest of Brother's MFPs, was noted by Niall Magennis of CNet UK to be easy to set up, while its in-built Wi-Fi functionality is a good bonus.

He noted the speed of the MFC-J430W is also very good compared with other options in its price range.

Recently, it was noted by Kodak in a feature on PC Advisor that MFPs can be hugely useful to home users as they pack many features into a single, compact device.
