Hi there, I've had a look at the reason for this and the cost to manufacture the standard ink is more expensive than the XL ink which means we need to charge more for it. It's a bit daft to be honest but the reason will be that there are less empty standard inks returned and less produced for the standard cartridge making it more expensive. The're no difference in quality of the ink!
